When I look around in the church (and outside the church) and see everyone doing the same tech/blog/twitter thing that I do, I see TONS of gifted people. Most of them I consider better than me at a lot of different stuff. Right at that moment, almost every time, I remember that Mama to thirteen year old talk that goes something like this, “You are who you are for a reason. God designed you for a purpose that’s bigger than you. Adam (Insert your name here), keep a humble heart. Keep an open ear to Him and He’ll direct you through your life.” That makes me feel special every time I play that back in my head. It’s awesome. God listens to us and we need to do the same back. Listening to God still escapes me once and a while. Sometimes that one way to Him feels blocked. I block my ears with all the garbage I want for my life and forget about the listening part. Oh, and I forget about the asking God what He wants for me part. Thank God for the little God and Mama reminders. I am me and you are u.
