I’ve known @dwfaust here on twitter for a while. He seems like a great guy who loves the Lord. He always will have a conversation with you and really cares about what you have to say. So, here you go– enjoy.
Adam
This past Sunday our pastor made a profound statement during his message. He simply said that “you have as much of God in your life as you want”. It has taken a day or so for that to really soak in. But it is very true. We find time for things that we deem important. We brush aside the things that we value least. But where does God fit into our lives? I know that I am saved – I asked Jesus into my life many years ago. I know that I am forgiven because I have asked Jesus to forgive me – many, many times over.
Is that all I want or need?
Do I value God and the things of His Kingdom highly enough to pursue Him? Am I really satisfied with my relationship with God? Have I grown closer to the Lord since I met him? Am I leading others to Him, too? Or are those things no longer a priority for me?
Before answering, we should all take a few moments and look to see where we are spending our time and energy – because where we focus our time and our energy will show us clearly where our priorities lay. While it is true that we have daily “stuff” that requires our attention – “stuff” like family, job, bills and so on, it is also gravely important that we make time for the One who gives us life, and for the One who sustains our life.
Truly, we only have as much of God in our life as we want. He is standing on the sidelines waiting to be included. Take time today to make the Lord a priority.

I needed to read this today! Thank you for sharing!
I agree wholeheartedly. I have found, that if I don't make time for the Lord on a daily basis, I feel like I don't belong, and have no meaning here in life. I have, through the promptings from guys in my small group, started to make time at 4am, due to a hectic schedule otherwise. These are the best times during the day for me currently, and where I get my inspiration for the day. Without this I would not have the relationship with God I have today.
I am struggling with this and have been for a while. Please pray for me. And thank you.
I think that this is an area where we all struggle from time to time. I will definitely be praying for you in this regard.
Thank you for your comment!
Yes, it is awfully easy to get "too busy" for God… and if that happens, it can have serious consequences in our lives. God bless!
Sometimes words are like a smack in the face.
Not sure if this will make sense but sometimes I can get so caught up in helping lead worship and trying to reach outward, (which is all valuable since we are called to) but miss out on personal time, just me and Him, then everything else gets out of whack.
@ktackel, I totally understand/agree. It’s ironic how “free and easy” salvation is, but sometimes, serving can be so difficult. First you have to battle the flesh and the old nature, then you have to do the balancing act between reaching out to the world and serving Him. When I focus on ministering to the Lord, making time for Him in my daily life, the reaching the world part seems to fall into place, do a large degree.
It’s easy to get caught up in doing the “stuff”, but I have found that when I focus totally on the Lord, opportunities to minister to “the world” actually starts to flow more easily.
Since I have been a Christian for so long I beat myself up because I don't always make God the priority. Things like to distract me and I like to give in. Francis Chan's book "Crazy Love" def put quiet time in a new perspective for me. Check it out if u haven't already.
