the top 10 things i love about the fort

The above photo is of Fort Collins, CO. If you haven’t been following this blog for long, then you probably don’t know that I moved from Atlanta, GA almost eight months ago. Things are quite a bit different here, but in a good way. Atlanta has a lot of great things to offer, but it just wasn’t for me.

So, here are the top ten reasons why I love the city of Fort Collins:

I can see the mountains from here.
In Colorado people despise litter.
No humidity. This should be #1.
People are really active here. We are the healthiest state by the way.
It’s at the right size where everybody knows everybody. I take this as a good thing.
It snows here for most of the year. I love snow now, but someday it might get old.
Everything is in walking distance.
People are too nice here. I thought people in the south were nice before I came here.
There’s not a “Bible Belt” mentality. (If you’ve lived in the south, then you know what I mean.)
We have the coolest looking license plates in the nation. This is a fact.

Well, there’s my top 10 list for why I dig this place so much. Now it’s your turn…

Give me one reason why you love the city that you live in.

Let's see if I can give you ten reasons I like Louisville, KY…

1. It has four seasons (different from southeast California where I was before).
2. It's green here, and has some of the prettiest, rolling-hills countryside I've seen (not really in Louisville though).
3. It still feels like a small city, not a large metropolis.
4. It's within a days drive of about 2/3 of the U.S. population.
5. It's not Indiana.
6. Most of my family lives nearby.
7. We're one of the best states for home schooling.
8. The best pizza in the world is about five minutes away.
9. One of the best water parks in the world is only about an hour away (in Indiana).
10. We're horribly behind in fashion sense and styles in general, which means I don't have to try to keep up with anything (I wouldn't anyway).

I believe that one of those buildings in the background is the Holiday Inn in Ft. Collins…I've stayed there many times.
