The one thing i miss about being in an old church is the purple carpet. I always wondered why churches have the weirdest colors. There are many things I miss about old time church. The hymns, choir robes, purple jackets, banners and the people playing off rhythm with tambourines. Makes me smile just thinking about it.

I miss the old lady that plays the piano and continues to try to get you to sing on the choir even though you are not really choir material…oh you know what I'm talking about

I'm still haunted by those memerys! the only thing I think of kind of miss about the old time churches is being smaller & being able comment as the sermon was being preached

I miss rectors who understand that worship is our spiritual sacrifice of praise to God. Nothing less or more. Those who think that there must be something "special" in each service is not understanding that standing in the throne room with God is special (Isaiah 6, for starters).

Those that do not understand that are going to have a dreadfully time putting up with eternity. Or, maybe that will be hell for them?

yup, especially the old Hossana albums, Ron Kenoly, Bob Fitts, and good old Maranatha choruses. i still have them in my iPod but I wish they play them again in church.

I miss the old lady "bun" hairdo… you know the one – full of bobby pins that get shook loose when the Holy Spirit fell on the place – and people being slain in the Spirit – and people actually "praying through" at real, physical prayer altar… I miss "old time" Pentecost.
