I met with Dan Cathy not too long and he asked me my story. So, I started off by saying, “Well, I grew up in Alabama, met Jasmine at church, eloped, moved to Georgia, went to church there, met some folks, moved to Co to help start a church with them, and that’s where I am now.” Of course I elaborated more on it than what I’m saying here, but he challenged me to do something. He said, “Adam, learn to tell your story. You’re the only one who has your story so learn to tell it.” That got me thinking. Life is about relationships. Then you have to learn to tell your stories to those that you make relationships with. Those stories are probably made up of a lot of stories about relationships. So, what’s your story?

    My story….

Born in southern California. Moved to Arizona when I was three because the smog was killing me (I had really bad asthma it's gotten better), my dad lost his job, and my parents got evicted from their apartment because the landlord was giving it to his daughter and her new husband. So we moved to the tiny town of Payson, AZ lived there for a year and moved to the even tinier town of Pine, AZ. We lived there for 11 years and moved back to Payson. My dad was and still is a home builder. I grew up in the midst of trees and saw dust. I grew up in church and "believed" I got saved when I was like 5. When I was 16 I started having doubts that I really did. So, to make things certain I asked Jesus into my life on Dec. 30, 1991. I was taught at home for high school and took my GED at 16. After that I worked went to college to get my AA. At 19 I moved to Prescott, AZ and graduated from Yavapai College in 1995 with my AA in Liberal Arts. I was the first woman to graduate from college in my family. I was very proud of this. Spiritually I'd kind of wandered away and God brought me back. I became involved with a great church in Prescott. In 1996 I moved to Phoenix at the time to get my journalism degree. Due to some circumstances I did not return to college. I have worked ever since. In December 1996/January 1997 I met my now husband (ahhhhh). We dated for four years and were married in May of 2001. We've worked and had our hearts convicted by God for many things. Last March we helped plant a church here in Phoenix, and are awaiting God's next plan for us.

tried to put my story down on my blog, got only halfway. Not always easy. But you are right, it is about relationships, and thinking about my story I can see that.
