If I do all things “Christian” ONLY in public, then it is to make myself look good. This should not be the point. It seems that character and my true relationship with Jesus is developed and molded when I’m alone with Christ. These are the times that you will never know about. If the most spiritual thing I do all day is retweet @rickwarren or @lecrae on twitter, it is again to make myself look like awesome spiritual guy. Also, that makes me a pretty bad “Christian” if that’s all I do. I need to be able to create my own tweets and writings to describe my relationship with God. I shouldn’t need other’s words to say who Jesus is in my life. Here is a challenge to you. Don’t rely on your parents, girlfriend, boyfriend, spouse or pastor for your relationship with God. Create that individual, personal relationship with Him because in the end, it’s YOUR responsibility.

Too often as Christians we are relying way too much on other people's spirituality. I agree that we need to take responsibility for our spiritual growth and our relationship with God. Other people can help us on the journey but no one else can do it for us.

There is nothing more personal in life that makes a more public impact that is real and lasting than our relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ. The awesome grace of our Savior! The person who has experienced the most grace will exhibit the most grace. THAT will make more of an impact on those around us than anything we do to pimp our image. Good words…thanks!

Why not tweet what works for you? In recovery I have learned to respect every persons' comments and then take what I want/need & leave the rest. I don't mean to say that I do that with, say the Bible, but I can have my own personal quiet time with God. I can read from the Bible or another source & reflect on that. I can just write down feelings. I can go to a concert. So many individuals choices! And mix up your tweets. Whether you are hiking or out to eat or struggling. Life goes on.

i just upset some 'positive encouraging christian tweeters'

ya know, the kind who tweet all day long 'how amazing God is and how He makes bad things happen so He can come and redeem and make all things good' … that kind.

i dared to suggest that maybe the idea of God making and or even letting bad things happen to people portrays a bit of a sadistic view of his personality, dontcha think?

they kept repeating their phrases, then refused to converse me any longer, which is a shame i reckon …

i love reading peoples tweets, i love people who are good at being encouraging.
i dont love people who cannot say anything original or what is really on their mind and are automated repeats of something they then refuse to discuss.
