It seems that with everyone using social media these days, people are always informing others on what is going on in their lives. Whether it’s important or not.

One question:

What’s the difference between bragging and just telling people about the important stuff you’re doing?

I struggle with this question a lot too. I wonder? I don’t want to be a bragger but I a) want people to know what I’m up to b) want to promote my work and who I am and c) want to know what my friends are up to. I guess it all comes down to perception.

It’s simple when you tell about “the important stuff you are doing” – it’s informing.
When you call at middle of the night to say “I am in hot tub with a hot dog that has my name on it!” – it’s bragging. =)
Informing has a positive value for a receiver.
Bragging has a negative one.
