blogging

July 11, 2010 in blog with 16 Comments

Sometimes I write blogs to see your opinion on a matter. Sometimes I write a blog to let you know my opinion on something. Sometimes I just write to empty my mind.

The one thing that I sometimes forget about blogging is that it was partly invented to let other people know what is going on in life. So, here are my happenings and thoughts as of late:

  • Haiti trip with SafeWorld has been moved to August 12-16. So excited about this!!!
  • I have my book, “Perfect Church” 90% completed. I should have this finished within the next three months.
  • Even though my twitter profile says I am located in Denver, CO I am actually located in Fort Collins, CO, which is an hour north of Denver. I list it like this for more exposure on twitter.
  • There will be a new jackalopekid.com launching on July 19th. This is version 3.0 and it is by far the best yet. I can’t wait for you guys to see it.
  • I am thinking of getting my first tattoo. I don’t know where I want to get it, but I know I want it to say “To the Summit” in Latin, which is “Ad Alta”.
  • We are helping plant orchardchurch in Westminster, CO.
  • I am at 20 highpoints overall and plan to climb five more by the end of 2010. This will get me to the halfway point.
  • My thoughts right now are that I have a farmer’s tan and I need to do some laundry.

There are some other things I have up my sleeve, but I can’t tell all of my secrets here.

So tell me, What’s going on in your life?

    My life?

Work – Rescuing drunks with hands stuck in drains is becoming strangely mundane, yet it still makes for great stories (I work on an ambulance)

Home- Bill Cosby is right, kids are brain damaged.

R&R – I have a few too many hobbies. I need to focus on the ones that bring quality to my life.

I've actually been considering getting my first tattoo within the next year or two as well. I'm about have the brain surgery, that I mentioned a few months ago, in Sept. I've overcome alot through God, not just this surgery. I believe a little tattoo is nothing. But I won't know what I want yet until I get that point.

Wow…I haven't commented in a while..life's been super hectic. Man, you're doing some awesome things! The book…can't wait to hear more about that, and the trip to Haiti will definitely be an eye opener, and I like the tattoo idea…very creative.

    Me?
…Well I've been working this summer…so that's kept me busy.
…I'm trying to get into better shape so I've been doing p90x (killer) and some running
…I want to get my second tattoo..I have some ideas, but still deciding
…I might be going somewhere else in the near future…but that is still in the works and after classes are over…we'll see.

I've been loving the atmosphere and vibe the FIFA World Cup has brought to South Africa.
So much unity, generosity, fellowship and new friends!
Other than that, I'm eagerly awaiting an email from one Adam Smith, but after just reading about everything he has on his plate, I'm feeling a lot more patient! ;)

I should change my location in Twitter. I live in Peine, Germany which has about 50,000 people. I'm #1 one on Twitter in Peine (which isn't saying much). Hannover is 20 miles away and it has something like 700,000 people.

Looking forward to your new look. Will you keep the commenting system the same? I have seen some people get rid of Intense Debate after they change their site, Carlos Whittaker comes to mind.

haha. thank you sir. I'm getting to ya bro. I haven't forgotten about you.

yeah I'm changing the system. It never loads right. I want consistency that it just doesn't seem to give.

For the new blog launch on Monday, I will need you guys and your friends to show up. I will be asking for something that will change the world. Save up your lunch money folks, because we will be trying to raise some money for SafeWorld/SafeWater. We are building an orphanage in Haiti and need your help!

My recent post Working On The “Man”

I am a Jesus-loving Christian, am 25, female, and bald – by choice (well, not initially, I had a stem cell transplant that took care of the hair issue to begin with – we had a head shaving party). I am too tired and “afraid” to shower to take care of hair. I have experienced MANY (and often rare) side effects from the transplant. I only have 50% lung function and that will decrees. I received (maybe not the right word) brain damage – most likely from the chemo. This leaves me very fatigued and unable to go to school or work. I have had 4 surgeries on my left eye for a cataract caused by one of my meds and am waiting to get my right eye done. I am currently fighting with God as my guide against depression, suicidal tendencies and fantasies, several suicide attempts, OCD, Borderline Personality Disorder and a plethora of other mental health issues. The meds haven't worked, the doctors haven't been able to cure me but do ya know what; 'Thou He slay me, yet will I trust Him' and 'I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made' are slowly pulling me from the pit. I was once a person of endless joy and I will be once again! Because of God.

PS – I would get that tattoo just above and back a little from the protruding ankle bone. I'm going to get my first one: a green star to represent leukemia, mental illness, and, well, my absolute fav football team – the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The star can become a collage of colored, layered stars based on what I and my family experience (like a purple star because my dad has had pancreatic cancer – 7 year survivor – Yay!) and I may get Psalm 139:14a written under it. I don't know if I should get that part done or not, might make the tattoo a little too noticeable.
