    you

    Life Stuff

Yes, we chat a lot over on twitter and facebook about the small stuff, but I probably don’t REALLY know you. But, I would love to know more about you. So, what is something you want me and the rest of (re)made to know? It could be that you’re afraid of heights, it could be that you have six toes on one foot, it could be that you want to be an actor one day, but you’re in a job nowhere even close to that. It can be anything. Go.

    usual day

    Life Stuff

Screen shot 2010-03-11 at 7.13.45 AM

Here is my usual day– I wake up at 6am, eat an apple, brush my teeth, exercise, eat, have quiet time, blog and stuff, spend time with Jasmine, work, eat, eat some more, spend time with Jasmine, and then it’s bed time. That’s my basic routine. Today was a little different. I had to wake up early and drive for quite a while. I actually had to make the drive from Fort Collins to Denver. If you’ve ever driven that I-25 stretch, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. The drive back was glorious. Looking at the sun coming up over the Rockies to the west, I was reminded at what a great Maker we serve. Then I started thinking about His power. That made me start to think about all of the miracles that He can do and all the miracles that still need to happen. It’s funny how my mind starts this whole process. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a huge miracle. Well, at least in my mind I think so. I mean, child birth is quite a miracle and that happens every day, but I’m thinking more along the lines of the healing miracles that happened a lot in the Bible. If God is still the same, He can still do those things. Those were my thoughts and prayers for the drive back. No, I didn’t close my eyes.

    break it up

    blog

I’ve been writing and thinking about a lot of serious stuff lately. I like to break up the serious junk with some fun stuff here and there because it keeps me sane. It gets overwhelming for me when I write about a ton of serious stuff and I’m guessing it does the same to the reader. It’s kind of a formula in a way. So, do you have a “formula” to your blog or do you just keep it all on the same topic?

    sin or love

    Church, Life Stuff

Screen shot 2010-03-08 at 9.32.12 PM

I grew up in a church where the pastor said what was up. If something was a sin, he would talk about it and you repented and got right with the Lord right away. But in the past five years or so, I’ve seen a shift from what Christians are saying. Instead of saying what sin is, I’ve heard them say, “Just love everybody like Jesus loves everyone”. I’m trying to figure out if this is a good or bad thing. I mean, I agree with the fact that we should love everyone, no matter what they’ve done. But at the same time, sin is sin, right? Is it a thing where Christians should just love everybody and let God deal with what sin is? Will that person just eventually turn around on their own? The only problem I have with that is, how will those people know something is a sin if we don’t tell them? Will God just tell them one day while walking down the street? This is what I’m pondering.

Should Christians call people out on their sin or just leave it alone?

It’s been a while since we did this on jackalopekid.com. This is the part where we actually get to be the church and pray for each other. So, tell me something…

What is something that you need prayer for?

After reading the comments over on ragamuffinsoul.com to this controversial post by Carlos Whittaker (@loswhit), I see some people have different opinions on how God views sin. I see some of you think God rates sin on different levels and then some of you folks think He sees all sin at the same level. What do you think:

    Does God rank sin?

    online accountability

This sparked a lot of interest over on twitter, so I thought I’d share it over here. With people many miles away from each other, with technology, Skype and iSight cameras, with relationships forming online, Do you think that online accountability can work?
